Pam Reed honored

Ultramarathon diva Pam Reed received the Runner of the Year award at the Competitor Magazine's Endurance Sports Awards banquet held in San Diego. She is best known for winning the Ultra Ultramarathon, Badwater, outright. In fact, she won it twice. This year, she will try for two American records: the 24 hour road record on May 21 (she will have to beat 145.28 miles) and then six days later the women's 48 hour track record (234.81 miles).

Pam Reed wins second Badwater

Pam Reed, took her second Badwater title this month. Last year they battled 125 degree weather. This year, it was up to 130. How hot was it? 22 of the 75 starters didn't finish.
