Some of the shoes in my closet

A woman can never have too many pair of shoes...running shoes that is. I have a large assortment for the type of running I feel like doing that day, the way that I feel, and for the conditions I will be running in. I think that it is really important to rotate the shoes. I also do not hesitate to buy a new pair if I find that the shoes are losing their feel or cushion. As you can tell, I do not play favorites to a particular shoe or company. I support my habit by looking for deals. One reason I am using the RoadRunner link is because many of my best deals have been found there. Occasionally, I have bought a pair of questionable shoes because they felt good and the price was right. Ryka is an example. Although I no longer have the pair I bought, I found a pair on sale and wore them. They were great. What sort of shoes do you enjoy? Let us know!

Nike Shox R4

Cushioned, holds up well, not good on hot days or on hot asphalt, good for trails. Good long runs.

Reebok DMX Series

I couldn't find the models I've worn on the website. Although heavy, they last forever, never seem to lose their cushioned feel, or their structure like some shoes do.

Montrail Hurricane Ridge

My latest running shoe, a trail shoe. A bit heavy for the roads, but on my first two days I ran a 15 miler and a 21 miler, some trails, some roads. Minor soreness under the toes. Great on this stretch of mud. The gortex kept my feet dry. Wear thick socks with these. You will feel well protected on the trails.

adidas Supernova Cushion

Nice and light, great for fast roads. Awful for trails. Not at all stable. Still, if you want to run a quickie on the roads, you will love it.

adidas Response Trail

Excellent trail shoe, which can also do the roads. Great for long runs. Very stable, very cushioned, pretty light. Ages well.

adidas Taper

My newest racing shoe. I've worn them in one marathon. No blisters. Not as form fitting as my last racing shoe (adidad Rats Racer) but I can wear a bit thicker socks, which I did for this marathon. Light, fast. Comfortable.

adidas Equipment Gazelle

I don't wear these as much, as they have lost their spunk. They are not as light as some, (regardless of their name) and didn't have the cushion that some adidas have. My model is an older one...perhaps these newer ones are better.

adidas Cairo

Again, I have an older model. This shoe surprised me. It was listed as a motion control, but it was great to run in. It held my foot without being overly so. It was good on trails, and is one of those shoes that you can come back to every so often.

Saucony Static Racer

I think this may be the only pair of Sauconys I have owned. I use them on the treadmill, only. They are light. But they are pretty stiff, and I don't think they would tolerate a marathon, or even very many road miles. Still, they are great for the treadmill.

Mizuno Wave Rider

Maybe the only pair of Mizunos I have worn also. They are pretty light and cushioned, but also are stiff, and not good off road. Another fast paced training shoe, and OK on the treadmill as well.
